About a month after moving in to the Provo apt with my two besties, I finally got a job: Gloria's Little Italy. So much fun. I got to waitress with some of the most fun people and eat the best food ever. Gloria's, at that time, was located at 300 south 300 east. My apt was on 700 north 700 east. Although I often had to beg for rides (especially at night), if the weather wasn't too bad, and if I had plenty of time, I would simply walk to work. I loved this walk. It was usually at the time of day when most Provo students were already in class, so the sidewalks were quiet, there weren't too many cars, and everything was thawing out. I still remember my exact route. Sometimes I would switch it up on the way home though, to keep it exciting. But I never changed the way I would walk to work, because then I might miss out on some of this:
These houses were all along Center street and were probably the reason behind me being a little late on some days
This one just looks like it belongs in a wee English village. That or a J.R.R. Tolkien novel
The windows were what did it for me on this house. Are you not feeling the Frank Lloyd Wright-ness?
My favorite one. Don't worry, I took plenty of pictures of it for you. Here we are approaching it...
In all of it's Frank Lloyd Wright-ness glory. Notice the windows, pillars, wood details... That's what got me. I know this house isn't the fanciest or whatever, but I think I like it so much because of it's simplicity and it seems attainable, like I could actually afford to live there someday -I'm an art teacher, fyi. -not that I'd really like to settle in Provo, but you get the gist
Plus ...it has a tree house!!! nuff said
