Duff Day '03

Of all the many reasons to love my high school art class, I think one of the top reasons it was my fav was that Mrs. McCammon let us make up and celebrate our own holiday; enter DUFF DAY 2003!!! Back in 2003, who didn't like Hilary Duff? Answer: no one. She was the topic of many conversations in our art class while we were "working" on art projects. She may have even been the subject of some of those projects. If not, then she should have been. She had it all: Lizzie McGuire, The Lizzie McGuire Movie, The Lizzie McGuire Movie soundtrack...

So One day, we decided to give her the recognition she deserved; that day, we conjured up Duff Day 2003. We made flyers, invited our vice principal, Mr. Salce, had a treat sign up sheet ...basically, all the bases were covered. Soon, the fateful day arrived. A classy picture of Hilary was posted on our art room door and we partied like nobody's business that day during first period. Seriously, it was a huge success -even though Mr. Salce ended up not attending. People brought treats -surprisingly-effort-involvingly-good treats! And we blasted "Come Clean" all hour. Well, we would have if Mrs. McCammon allowed music with lyrics in that class.

Now, who's down for Duff Day '10?! Sure, Hilary's teeth may be a little bigger now, and she may not have released a CD since 2007, but she's still great. I mean, she dated Aaron Carter for pete's sake! (Or maybe that was just the Christmas episode of Lizzie McGuire)
