I just got back from my trip to Switzerland*, and it was AMAZING, but I don't want to skip the other awesome trip I went on the summer just a week earlier. Every summer, my mom, sister, and I have a tradition where we go and spend a few days in Oceanside, CA. It's super fun and good for the bonding and all that stuff. Plus, I love the beach. Like, a lot.
We stayed in a new place this summer that was right by the harbor. We were pretty bummed at first, since the place we usually stay is right on the beach and had sand all over and an odd-sized fridge and everything, but the new place ended up not being that bad -except for the freakishly-huge cockroach that Bethany killed and then lost in the cockroach-colored carpet (don't worry, she found it and disposed of it. And we never even let our mom even see it -we kept her locked in the bathroom, for her own good)
It's kinda funny, because this trip was a total copy of last year's (Shows what a blast we had summer '09). We ate at all of the same places as last year, or at least we tried. We didn't ever write down the names or addresses of this pizza place and Thai restaurant that we loved last year, so we just had to go by memory. The Thai place wasn't the same location, but was just as good and I'm thinking it's the same owners. As for the pizza place, we were way off. After driving around for about half an hour just looking for an address we found to what we thought may be the place, it turned out to be a really scary joint, so we gave up and went to Macaroni Grill (hello, giftcard).
We went to Carlsbad one day to hit up a fav used-book store. While there, we saw Carlsbad Pipelines -the skate shop where our dad bought his long board like ten years ago. Good/funny memories are associated with this logo

*Don't worry, Switzerland post will be up shortly
