And He Shall be Called...

...we have no idea.

One of the most frequent questions we've gotten since announcing the pregnancy has been some form of
"Do you have any names picked out?"

Always such a good question.
Now, an answer on the other hand...

For some reason, Cam and I have just had a lot of difficulty with boy names. Girl names were a breeze. We had like 3 names we loved right off the bat. Before we found out the gender, I had an inkling that lil beebee was going to be a boy -only because I couldn't think of any boy names (Is that my perception of how the world works? Oh well).

It's funny what a big deal names seem to be. I feel so pressured to give our little boy a name that stands out, isn't difficult to spell/pronounce, can't easily be made fun of, sounds great with our last name, and isn't the same name as any difficult student I ever had. I may be making this a bigger deal than it needs to be.

Now, I know you are a creative, thoughtful, loving bunch.
Care to lend a hand?

What are some of your favorite little boy names???

fyi: whenever we do pick out a name we love, we plan to keep it secret until baby is born. We found out early on that people love to share their opinions (positive or negative) on names you may love -and that may taint your love of that name. No tainting!

Oh Boy:)

How excited was I when the ultrasound tech pointed out some specific anatomy to us at our appointment yesterday?

THIS EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(my arms are very wide spread right now, fyi)

Like I mentioned previously, neither of us has really had a preference gender-wise for our little beebee, but it was just so so great to finally find out. It was so unreal to see the little one up one the screen and see his heart beating, his legs kicking, and him basically scampering around all over the place.
He's healthy and doing great! August 21st can't come soon enough.

I can't wait to have a baby Camaron in our home:)

I was especially excited that everything worked out, because I forgot the rules* and went to the bathroom right before we left for the appointment

*apparently, you're not supposed to do that. I knew this, but totally forgot. When nature calls...

Movin on Up

This weekend magically became moving weekend!!!
(I just found out about this like on Wednesday. It's crazy)
Our housing people finally came through for us! They let us know a house opened up on Monday, we got the keys on Thursday, and started moving stuff in yesterday! It's so unreal. Luckily, most everything is still boxed up from our move down from Utah last month, so it's all been pretty easy:)

Oh, here's some background on where we're living (cause it's a little unique).
ASU has married student housing at their East campus. It's basically 3ish little communities of houses that used to be military housing when the school campus was a military base back in the day. The houses are old, but they're freshly painted and come with nice appliances and TONS of space -Oh, and did I mention our 2 bedroom house is cheaper than our 1 bedroom apartment was??? Yeah, we're all over that.

I seriously can't get over the space and storage we're being blessed with. It makes me giddy. Our Utah apartment was majorly lacking in that department, so this is such a nice change.
I am so so excited to start unpacking and decorating (especially the nursery!!!)

Farewell my parent's guest room!

Pics should be coming next week -along with baby gender news!!!!!!! (I haven't been this excited since I found out Saved By the Bell is now available on Netflix)

Courage to Speak Softly

Growing up, I was very shy and quiet. Being the center of attention was rarely something I yearned for. I loved learning and creating, and found I often did my best when distractions were minimal and I had time for myself. I hated calling people on the phone, being alone in new places (first day of school especially), talking to strangers or anyone I didn't know very well, and I HATED group work.

Although I've definitely come a long way, I still often exude many of these shy qualities. I've accepted that it's part of who I am, but I try my best to not to let it hold me back as much as it did growing up. I've tried to overcome my shyness, partly because I knew I couldn't have my mom calling people for me anymore once I was in high school, and partly because I always felt a little looked down on as a shy person; Like it wasn't a good quality to have and that being outgoing was the best personality trait possible.

I LOVE this video I just found on TED. This woman hits the nail on the head! Oh my goodness, if only the rest of the world (or just America) recognized the power that introverts have. I want to watch this again. Maybe I will.
The Power of Introverts
What do you think? Are you more introverted or extroverted?

Community College

All my friends who go/went to community college, say "yeah!!!!"

I, like many fellow East valley-ers, went to Mesa Community College(MCC) right out of high school.
It was a nice transition from high school, and much cheaper than the local university
(especially since I still had no idea what I wanted to major in, yet)

MCC was a fun time in my life -I took hip hop dance, tennis, 3D animation, volleyball ...and some other classes that I guess were required to graduate.

The other day, Camaron and some of his friends got together and made this video for an MCC contest. The winner is determined by the number of views their video gets, so feel free to watch to your heart's content:)
Did you notice that sweet camera work? Especially the scenes where the camera person just can't seem to figure out how to work the focus? Yeah, I did that.

p.s. MCC may or may not make you a successful millionaire.
Who's really to say, though?

p.p.s. be sure to get in your guess for the baby's gender (on the right sidebar)
I am sooo excited for Monday!!!

Boy or Girl???

*sorry to be annoying, but I tweaked the poll and accidentally erased all of the guesses! Tuesday guessers, please guess again:)
Next week, little beebee is going to be the size of a grapefruit and the perfect size to find out a gender:)
Camaron and I are basically ecstatic about this ultrasound appointment -it's out first one!
I don't know how it happened, but we haven't had any ultrasounds taken yet and I'm done with being patient. So now is your time, people. Time to take your guess.

Boy or girl???

My mom is convinced it's a boy. I have no idea.
But, completely honest, Camaron and I have no preference and would love a mini Camaron or mini Andrea running around in the near future.
Or both? (Camaron really wants it to be twins and is holding on to that hope)

Put your guess in the poll on the right sidebar. If you're correct, then you're awesome. If not, then you're still awesome, but you guessed incorrectly.

Here's to hoping lil baby isn't shy at our appointment next Monday!

$1.89 Date Night

Who's excited for this weekend???!?!?!
popcorn + me + Camaron + Katniss = yes please
(and gummies, m&ms, and licorice...)

For the Hunger Games movie this weekend, we've paid a little extra to go to an early premiere
without having to wait in line or end up sitting in the front row.
Because we know that this week's date night will be a little expensive, we wanted to save our dough last weekend. At first, we just weren't going to go out last weekend at all ...but then I started getting stir crazy.

So Camaron and I made a plan.

Dessert + DVD + being outside - major funds = happy Camandrea
(prime example of a happy Camandrea)

Camaron let me choose the dessert.
I wasn't in the mood for any ice cream-type food, and we didn't have any good food groupons,
so I went with my failsafe ...donuts.
We took Bowski for a walk down to QT to pick up some glazed goodness.
Then, we walked the crazy dog back home
(seriously, he was going nuts and almost yanked off my arm. I don't know why he is so weird sometimes. Hobos hiding in the bushes?)
To celebrate our donuts and our service to the crazy dog, we picked out a movie (Will Smith, of course), grabbed a big blanket, pillows, and the laptop, and then headed to a nearby neighborhood lake.
We went to one of our favorite spots and set up the blanket and laptop. We then enjoyed Will's chocolate muscles whilst eating QT's sugary goodness in front of the moon's reflection on the nearby rippling waves. It was so wonderful.
I highly recommend it.

The colors. The backgrounds. The patterns. The textures.
They have a maternity line, right?
Thank you, RedValentino

Oh Baby

I am 17 weeks pregnant today.
I am 17 weeks pregnant today!

I have my first AZ doctors appointment today and I am so excited!
I don't even care that I just told you I'm excited to see the doctor -that's how excited I am.
I've been trying to pinpoint why I've like my doctors appointments so much ever since becoming pregnant.
I think the biggest reason I enjoy these appointments (even when awkward things are done to me) is because it makes baby/beebee* seem more real each time I go. I love it.

In other news, I'm now at the point where I'm not allowed to sleep on my back anymore.
I don't know when it happened, but sometime ago I began sleeping on my back and became very accustomed to it. In fact, I now can't fathom a more comfortable position.
My body can't fathom a more comfortable position either -hence, I keep waking up laying flat on my back. Oops.
Or I just toss and turn all night trying to avoid my back (Camaron loves this. So much)
I'm almost to the point of ordering one of these. I'm actually kinda hoping my doctor tells me I need one.
I wants my sleep back.

*How we often refer to the baby

Thoughts for today:
There is no doubting it is springtime in Arizona right now. It smells amazing all of the time!
I love this much-too-short-time of year.
I can't believe it's March.
I'm still having trouble believing it's 2012 -I seriously just read an article written in 2010 and was convinced the whole time that that was last year.
Well, our house is full of jellybeans, which also means that Easter is on its way.
Oh, I just love this time of the year.

p.s. I had another job interview today. Let's just say, if I don't get this job, then there must really be something else amazing out there waiting for me (because I totally rocked it)

Over the weekend

So this was me all weekend.
 (and Camaron being very supportive)
doesn't the view out the window look like an oil painting?

Usually around this time of year in AZ, everything is blossoming and blooming, and it smells awesome and is beautiful (orange blossoms: best.scent.ever.)
...but all of that beauty comes with a price.

On Saturday, my family all trekked out to the dessert to picnic and ride quads.
It was so much fun and so yummy and so sneezy.
So, even though it looked like I was bawling the whole time, I actually loved it:)

When I got home, I did a little research and found out that you're allowed to take Claritin while pregnant. You have no idea how much joy this news brought me.

p.s. You better believe I won at Skipbo
p.p.s. best feeling in the world: being able to finally let out a sneeze after 6 failed attempts

Jump On The Train

So, this 11 Things post has been floating around for a little while now, and I normally don't hop on board with all of the "getting to know you" posts out there, but Camaron loves when I blog and I don't want to let him down, so let's do this thang!
I'm using the questions that Dana posted on her blog:)

Here are the rules:

1. Post these rules
2. Post a photo of yourself and 11 random things
3. Answer the questions set for you in the original post

This is me. I like to have fun.
11 Random Things

Running water always makes me have to spit. See for yourself next time I wash my hands.

I ate too many hotdogs at my friend's birthday party in 9th grade. The next day, I had appendicitis. Yes, I still love to eat hot dogs (kosher, please).

I have had a freckle on the bottom of my right foot for as long as I can remember.

I broke my right arm in second grade. That is how I always know right from left (seriously)

I had a crush on a boy in 11th grade. But I was always afraid to talk to him. I made a Christmas card from us and our future kids once ...and gave it to the boy! Somehow, it never worked out between us.

I was once obsessed with the Jonas Brothers. I even still have some of their Youtube videos memorized. Those bros will always own a piece of my heart.

I once lost a shoe in the giant fountain outside the huge Bank of America building in Mesa when I was a toddler. I think of that every time I drive by.

I did the Jr. Miss pageant my senior year. Sign language was my talent. Pretty original, right? I guess that's what the other 3 girls who did sign language as their talent thought too. I'm just glad I didn't have to go last. Oh wait, I did.

Camaron was still in elementary school when I started high school (I'm three years older than him). We try not to think about this very often.

I once won a Thriller dance battle in college. Sha-mon!

I was on the badminton team in high school. I even lettered in it! Now, I really want to play.

This is at my friend's birthday dinner last December. Look how gross/hott Camaron and I are in the back-middle

11 Questions from Dana

1 - Do you ever wish on things? Of course I do! I've grown up holding my breath and making a wish every time we drive through a tunnel. Every. Time.

2 - Would you shave your head for $10,000? Could I buy a wig wish some of that cash?? Oh man, I don't know. I really don't think I have a Natalie Portman head.

3 -  What is one mistake you've made that you wish you could go back and try again? I wish I wasn't so dang shy growing up. I guess that's not really a mistake, but I could've saved myself a lot of anxiety growing up and people would've realized how cool I was sooner. A win-win.

4 -  Jeans or leggings? Jeans. That is all.

5 -  Have you ever spit on someone? Pretty sure my older sister has felt the wrath of my saliva before. And I have never been able to control it when I gleek.

6 - What's the first thing you do when you wake up and get out of bed? Go to the bathroom! Yippee!

7 - When was your first kiss? In 2004. Same year as Camaron's! (I just found that out last night) Unfortunately, it was not with each other.

8 - Have you ever done anything illegal? Trespassing? Does that even count? Oh, and illegal fireworks. Yeah, I'm edgy.

9 - If they could breed magical animals, what kind would you have? A Unisus/Pegacorn. Unicorn+Pegasus. It would be sooooo cooool (almost as cool as its name). We'd fly over every rainbow.

10 - Have you ever read someone elses diary? There's a reason why the first 3 pages of my sister's diaries are always just threatening letters to me...

11 - If you could get rid of one thing in the entire world, what would you get rid of? I kinda wanna say hatred, but I also really want to say mosquitos.
