We moved!

We moved last weekend! And we still don't have the Internet! So that there has been a big contributer to the the lull in blog posts lately. Well, that and Fox's sudden decision to be all done with taking naps (please pray with me that it's just a weird transition thing and all will be back to normal asap). Also, while we're praying, let's add in a little plea that the Internet people come today -phone blogging/internetting is not my ideal.

Ok, back to the main topic here, we moved! We're no longer slumming it at my parents' house. Camaron found us a nice little house in Phoenix, close to downtown (where he starts working next week!). It's been a fun little week in our new place. We're in an "established" neighborhood aka all old people, no kids. So that's a little bit of a bummer. But everyone has hummingbird feeders and dogs, so that's kinda fun.

Our house is pretty old, so it definitely has some quirks. We're just renting, but we're hoping our landlord lets us switch up a few things. There are two random cutouts in our hallway wall that Camaron and I have had fun making up reasons as to why they were put there. Some kind of really weird display? Who knows? Also, the mailbox is built into our living room wall. It's probably fox's favorite part of the house. He opens the slot and bam! Mail! And all of the bedrooms are the exact same size. Equality! Also, our kitchen has a Mr. Ed door going into the dining room. Be jealous.

Along with getting th Internet, we are so looking forward to having a couch again. That's right, we've been hanging out on the rug on the floor all week. We sold our couch before moving to dc so we wouldn't have to store it, but I had no idea how hard it is to find a decent couch! We lucked out with ours before when we found it for a rocking deal at a thrift store within, like, an hour of searching. But we're hoping the search ends today. I'll keep you posted.

So that's about it. I think you're all caught up. We moved and all we think about now is couches and having the Internet. Oh yeah, and we didn't have heat or hot water our first night here. That was an adventure. And I'm sure more adventures await. Bring it on, little old house.

  1. Good luck in your new house! Also, re: Fox's naps (warning: unsolicited advice coming up!) Owen stopped napping a bit before Christmas (a few weeks after we moved). It was rough. But my sister-in-law told me that all of her kids did this at age 2 and that if I kept putting Owen down for "quiet time" in his room during his usual naptime he would eventually start napping again. And he did! After 3 long weeks of no naps he started napping again. Now he only skips his nap once or twice a week and that is much better. Hopefully Fox starts napping again soon too!
