Sloane turned one on Friday.
The day was fun and relaxed -just like our little birthday girl. We played with toys, opened some presents, and took some naps. It was awesome. After naps, we headed over to Gilbert to partake in the Joe's birthday trifecta. Arizona really is the best place to celebrate birthdays (free food-wise). We hit up the BBQ for lunch, then had the most delicious cake I've ever had in my life across the street at Liberty Market. Also, that oatmeal cream pie was as big as Fox's face (as so so yummy). Then we topped off our tour by taking a meal to-go from Joe's Farm Grill. The rest of the day, we basically just let Sloane do whatever she wanted. So, lots of goldfish and stealing Fox's toys.
This year has been so much fun, and has gone by way too fast. I remember so clearly waking up and getting ready to go to the hospital to have and meet you for the first time. I remember Camaron telling me "it's a girl!" and being so happy and falling in love as soon as I saw your cute little face and full head of hair. You fit right into our family right away. Fox has been your number one fan from day one. He always wants to race in to help you whenever he hears you making noise in your crib (you're welcome for us stopping him as much as we can to let you get your sleep). You're an awesome eater -this has been such a blessing to your easily stressed-out mom. You also exceeded all of our expectations when we moved to DC for Daddy's internship. You were awesome on your first-ever flight. And thank you for not hating us for making you sleep on a pile of towels that first week. You are so smart and so happy. I love running errands with you, because you bring smiles to the faces of everyone around us. Also, speaking of smiles, it's such a great feeling coming home to you after being at work (or anywhere for a while). Your excitement and huge grin make everything better.
Happy first birthday, Sloane Margaret! Love, love, love you.
P.S. Thank you for letting us use your birthday to get free food:)
