Valentine's / Galentine's Weekend

I love the new tradition (is it really that new?) of not only celebrating your love on Valentine's day, but celebrating your favorite ladies the day before, on Galentine's day. This year, Natalie took the reigns. I helped a tiny bit, but really, she's such a pro hostess. She deserves an award. Look at how cute the table settings are! Vintages glasses, adorable napkins, the prettiest table cloths ...I love details like that.

Everyone brought something to share for lunch, and everything was delicious -especially the Taco Bell tacos Mary brought ha!

The theme of our Galentine's lunch was "You're My Fave", so we made it a favorite things party. I've never been to a favorite things party before, but I've been converted. I'm basically its #1 fan. It was so much fun seeing what each person's favorite thing (under $5) was and then seeing who won them. I brought a bunch of these, because they're my fave, duh:)

You can tell the conversation got a little scandalous right here^^^ Haha! The best was that one of the ladies was quoting her mother-in-law right at this moment.

These ladies are totally my faves.

Valentine's Day this year was a total blast as well. Camaron and I had a great date night while my parents watched the kids. They even had the kids spend the night, so that just completely rocked. I always get anxiety about getting back in time to relieve the babysitter, so it was so nice to not have to worry about that during our date night. Thanks, Mom and Dad!

The best part of the weekend, though??? Adding two new ladies to our family! My sister had her twins Friday night!!!! It was a huge surprise, because they came a little early. But everyone is healthy and adorable and I just love those little girls so much already xoxoxoxoxo

**See that Golden Girls print in the first photo? If you love it as much as I do, then go over to A Beautiful Mess to grab one for yourself. If that link doesn't work though (it didn't for me), then try HERE

Weekend Favorites

One of my favorite sights is finding these kiddos flipping through and soaking up a fun book. As I've mentioned before, we are a family of readers. We scored big at the library this weekend. I love that we live close to a great library. Uhhh, my use of the word "great" in that description might be different than what you're thinking. It's really tiny and not in a fancy part of town or anything like that. But I consider it great because hardly anyone uses it! There are never any holds on the books I find online and the kid area is never crowded or dirty or anything, and there are always culture passes available. I try to avoid thinking that this may be that I live in an area where no one reads ...but sometimes I do think that may be the case. But it works out in our favor, so...

Wahooo Super Bowl Sundayyyyyyyy! Jk, we don't watch football at all, so it was just a pretty normal Sunday for us. EXCEPT when I woke up from my [standard] Sunday nap, Camaron surprised me with Super Bowl treats! I've always wanted to have a Super Bowl party, but with no game playing, just a ton of the Super Bowl food and friends ...and maybe Parks and Rec playing in the background or something. So waking up to Super Bowl foods was like a dream come true! Camaron had laid out a delicious spread of 7-layer bean dip, chips, and these super cute pudding cup treats with Oreos and Milano cookies. Best Super Bowl ever. -Just ask Sloane;)

**P.S. If you love football, that's totally great! And you should invite me to your game day parties. I'm all for cheering for your favorite team. Just supply plenty of guac and wings;)

Look at these twinners! Fox's old jammies* now fit Sloane, so she's been wearing a lot of Spiderman to bed lately. And last night, Fox requested he wear the old ones too (hence the tight jammies on him). They were too cute not to document. Two little spideys jumping on the bed...

And the highlight of the weekend ...this gem right here. You've probably seen it floating around Pinterest lately. If you've pinned it, don't let it fade away into the deep dark Pinterest crevices of recipes you'll never actually try. BEST RECIPE EVER. Seriously, I am not tempted to ever go out for Italian food again -this was better than any other pasta I've ever had. We're definitely making it again this week. Recipe here!

*I have gotten in the habit of calling pajamas "jammies". One time, I was telling a man at Old Navy about the Christmas jammies we had. He seemed intrigued and wanted to see them. So I walked him over to the section where they were hanging and he was like "Oh! pajamas!" Ha! He had no idea what I was talking about until he actually saw them. Is jammies really that weird of a word??
